Artist Statement for Architect

Glass River
As I was walking down I saw this railing and looked down and this is what I saw. I didn’t know what it was or what purpose it served but it is so interesting. I chose to take this picture from this angle because at this angle, you can see it wrap around and see what it really looks like. As I was editing I put a lot of saturation in because it made the color from the leaves pop. In this picture I was trying to create a feel of warmth by making the colors brighter. I also wanted to make you think about what it actually was because it made me think about what it was.
Our Creation With Hers
This was another sculpture that I just had to take a photo of because it look so cool. I took this photo as I was walking in downtown Ann Arbor. I tried this one from a lot of different angles that looked really cool but this one was definitely my favorite because I liked how the background looks. I wanted to covey a feeling of nature even though this was man made. I thought it was interesting to have one man made object in the middle of nature. I had a lot of trouble trying to not get any people in this photo because it was right by the sidewalk but in the end I think I did a good job.
Rusty Old Paradise
This was a building on the Michigan Campus that I thought was so beautiful. When I looked as this I felt like I was looking at history because this structure is a new building but the way it was built gives this old Ann Arbor feeling that I love. When editing this image I made it a little sharper with more definition and I also did a couple other edits to make the color of the rocks stand out. I had trouble finding a good angle to take this but I love how it turned out because you can see most of the building and it is a little offset.
